Climate Strategies would like to draw your attention to three new Working Papers related to the Climate Strategies project “Linkages among Emissions Trading Schemes and with Offset Projects”.
The papers can be found at: http://www.joanneum.at/climate/linking/

The first Working Paper, “Prospects of linking the EU Emission Trading Scheme with a Federal US Emissions Trading Scheme along the lines of the Lieberman-Warner Proposal” analyses the design of the EU ETS and the US Lieberman-Warner proposal to assess whether these two (proposed) trading systems have design features that would lead to negative environmental or economic impacts in the case of linking.

The second Working Paper “Linking Emissions Trading Schemes for International Aviation and Maritime Emissions” assesses potential links of trading schemes established for international aviation and maritime emissions.

The third Working Paper “Emerging Japanese Emissions Trading Schemes and prospects for linking” describes the development of the Japanese Climate Policy and assesses current proposals for the introduction of a national mandatory ETS in Japan regarding their ability to link to other trading schemes.

Other recent Climate Strategies paper can be found at:   http://www.climatestrategies.org/
