The Foreign Policy Association (FPA) is a New York based organization that provides a list of study topics for its membership - a yearly “Great Decisions” list. This year it includes Climate Change among the 8 selected topics. FPA is basically an organization that explains to its membership the business interests in the US policy making process. It is clearly an organization with a strong patriotic self-image.
In 2007, Climate Change is topic #2 of Great Decisions, right after the Middle East, before - Mexico, Migration, South Africa, War Crimes, Central Asia and Children. Among the suggested study material, for good measure, are also the writings of Bjorn Lomborg.
http://www.fpa.org/topics_info2414/topic… was set up by FPA Contributor Daniel Widome to show - “Proposals to address climate change in Congress have increased markedly in recent years,” the stress is on the issue’s impact on upcoming presidential elections, recent judiciary decisions, and the current administration’s policymaking.
Further, Bill Hewitt is an environmental activist and a professional. He was also a Sierra Club leader in New York City and spent nearly 11 years in public affairs for the NY State Department of Environmental Conservation. He worked on environmental issues for two NYC mayoral campaigns, and a presidential campaign. He is a writer and editor, and is the principal of Hewitt Communications. He has an M.S. in international affairs. Now he is in charge of a new blog for the FPA - http://climatechange.foreignpolicyblogs…. to which I got by following a trail “Africa and Climate Change.” Bill Hewitt participated at many recent events that we also participated, and we find that our readers would find his material interesting. We decided thus to post these links on our web.
