Former President Bill Clinton readied his final report on the Tsunami Recovery Efforts - his two years appointment comes to an end at the end of this month. He Presented it to the UN Secretary-General on December 21st, and his Deputy Special Envoy, Mr. Eric Schwartz, spoke to the press on the lessons learned in those activities, and what was achieved in the recovery effort.

The obvious was said that best recovery practices help also break patterns of underdevelopment, but no clear answers were given on the amount of money disbursed, what part of the pledges were honored, and how much is still kept in the banks. On the other hand we learned that trying to do the right thing brings about inflation in the areas of activity, and it makes actually sense to slow down the recovery process in order to achieve better results by stretching the activities over a longer time span.
